About EACLA

Uniting East African Parliamentarians for Climate Action Through Legislative Excellence

Our Story

The East Africa Climate Legislative Assembly (EACLA) was born from the recognition that climate change knows no borders. As extreme weather events, droughts, and floods increasingly affect our region, the need for coordinated legislative action became undeniable.

Founded by visionary parliamentarians from across East Africa, EACLA represents a groundbreaking approach to regional climate governance. We believe that effective climate action requires not just international agreements, but strong, harmonized national laws that can be implemented and enforced.

Today, EACLA stands as the premier platform for climate legislative cooperation in East Africa, bringing together lawmakers from 10 countries to share knowledge, develop best practices, and create the legal frameworks needed for a climate-resilient future.
